Five girls swept away in sea in Odisha; one dead, another missing

Chhatrapur: Five girls swept away by a strong current in sea, of them one died, and another went missing here in Odisha’s Ganjam district today morning.

The deceased girl has been identified as Swapna Rani Pandit from Kanisi area. The girl, who is still missing, was Goodly Mishra of Seragarh area.

According to reports, five friends had gone to the sea at 7 am today to take bath near Aryapalli village. While they were enjoying together in the seawater, were swept away by a strong sea tide.

The villagers managed to rescue four girls from the water, of them one was declared dead at Chhatrapur Sub-Divisional Hospital.

The rescue operation is underway to trace another girl, who went missing in the sea.
