Five teachers arrested for Odisha Matric question paper leak

Bhubaneswar: Taking cognizance of question paper leak on the first day of annual HSC Examination yesterday, the Nuapada police today arrested five teachers of two schools in the district.

The arrested teachers are centre superintendent Prasanna Kumar Pati,  and invigilators Bighnaraj Supakar and Mukund Sabara of Karangmal High School while the two others are the centre superintendent Sushil Kumar Joshi and invigilator Arjunajaya Panda of Gopinath High School at Litisargi.

On Friday, District Education Officer (DEO), Boden Block Education Officer Indramani Panigrahi had lodged complaints against these five staff in connection with their alleged involvement in the incident.

Acting on the complaint, police had detained the five teachers for interrogation and investigation, said a police official.

Worth mentioning four centre superintendents and four invigilators of four centres (Karamangal High School and Gopinath High School of Nuapada district, Bandhugaon High School in Koraput district and Sudarshan Vidyapeetha in Dhenkenal district)  were placed under suspension yesterday after question paper of Odia language went viral on social media an after commencement of the examination.
