Flight operations at Bhubaneswar airport to remain suspended from 11 PM today

Bhubaneswar: In view of very severe cyclonic storm Yaas, authorities of the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar suspended flight operations from 11 pm tonight.

Director of BPIA, VV Rao informed the flight operations at the Bhubaneswar airport will remain suspended from 11 PM on May 25 till 5 AM on May 27 on basis of the India Metrological Department’s forecast over cyclonic storm Yaas.

In its latest weather bulletin, the India Metrological Department (IMD) stated Severe Cyclonic Storm Yaas has intensified into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm over northwest Bay of Bengal.

The very severe cyclonic storm is likely to make landfall between Basudevpur of Bhadrak district and Bahanaga of Balasore district tomorrow. The landfall process is likely to be between 4 AM and 8 AM on May 26.
