Bhubaneswar: Depression-induced heavy rainfall across Odisha has caused flood-like situation in several parts of the state.

The incessant downpour has led to waterlogging and submerged roads, leaving several places inaccessible.

Among the severely affected regions is Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur district, where floodwater has inundated numerous low-lying villages. The villages are now marooned after the Harihara Jore dam released a substantial amount of floodwater on Tuesday night.

Telkoi area has also experienced continuous heavy rainfall, resulting in flooding in several parts. The Samakoi river bridge is currently submerged under five feet of floodwater, rendering ten panchayats cut off from the block office.

Additionally, communication between Telkoi and other major areas such as Talcher, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar has been severed due to the relentless deluge.

Furthermore, the floodwater has risen about five feet over the Hanumantia Nuallah bridge, leading to the breakdown of communication between Telkoi, Rourkela, and Sambalpur.
