Balasore: A hostel of the Fakir Mohan (FM) Medical College & Hospital was declared as the micro-containment zone here in the district after detection of multiple COVID-19 cases yesterday.

The municipal authorities declared boys hostel of the State-run medical college as micro containment zone a day after 12 medicos tested positive for COVID-19.

Source said that the infectees have been kept in isolation for their treatment. The RT-PCR test will be conducted on other hostel inmates as part of precautionary measure.

With declaration of micro-containment zone as per COVID-19 guidelines, nobody will be allowed to enter into or move out of the hostel. During the period of micro-containment, the hostel building will be sanitised to prevent further spread of infection.
