‘Focus Odisha’ channel formally launched

Bhubaneswar, June 13:

Focus Odisha, the 24×7 Odia news channel of the Focus TV Group, was today formally launched by Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik in the presence of the Group CEO Niraj Sanan,  Group Editor Sanjib Srivastav, Focus Odisha Editor D N Singh and other officials.

FOCUS TVSanan and Srivastav dedicated the news channel to the people of Odisha and said it would redefine  news broadcasting and play a major role in the evolution of television journalism in the state.

It would cover news across party lines and social groups in a disinterested manner and come up with a strong content, they added.

Srivastav said Focus Odisha would be the voice of voiceless and would try to raise the standards of journalism with innovative programmes and uncompromising integrity, he added.

Focus Odisha has been on air for quite sometime and was in news recently for its scoop on rigging in a number of booths during the last general elections. The exxpose’ had forced the Election Commission to order re-polling in these booths.

Focus TV Group runs a number of other news channels such as Focus News (Hindi), Focus Haryana, Focus Bangla, Focus NE and a popular entertainment channel in the North East- Focus HI FI.

Among others, Focus Odisha’ s Editor, Current Affairs Manoranjan Mishra, Focus Odisha Editor D N Singh, Input Editor Bhakta Tripathy,  and other staffs of the channel were present on the accasion.
