Focus on land deals as CB grills Sarathi Baba for third day

Odisha Crime Branch police is interrogating the self-styled god man Santosh Roula alias Sarathi Baba at its headquarters here for the third successive day today.

Sources in the Crime Branch said Sarathi Baba is being questioned mainly on his financial transactions and land deals.

The Crime Branch’s cyber cell team is examining documents pertaining to Sarathi Baba at the Income Tax office here.

The Crime Branch’s three-day remand of Sarathi Baba will end today. He is likely to be produced before the SDJM court here this evening or tomorrow morning.

The agency is likely to move the court seeking to take Sarathi Baba on remand of five more days for further questioning, sources in the Crime Branch revealed.

Meanwhile, a five-member team of the Crime Branch is examining records pertaining to Sarathi Baba’s land deals at the Sub Registrar’s office at Kendrapara, sources said.

Khaga, a former associate of Sarathi Baba who was named by the woman who accompanied the Baba to Hyderabad as one of the four persons who were blackmailing him, was today grilled by the Crime Branch at the SDPO office in Kendrapara.
