Former BJD MP Baijayant Panda to contest Lok Sabha polls on BJP ticket in Odisha!

Cuttack: After quitting Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Lok Sabha MP post, the former parliamentarian Baijayant Panda has developed positive equation with the BJP leaders both at Centre and Odisha.

Although, Panda is yet to raise the curtain on the suspense over his next move in politics, his meeting with the BJP leader and former minister Sameer Dey at latter’s residence in Cuttack yesterday gives louder message to his rivals.

Developing bitterness with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and BJD, Panda is likely to join the national political party like BJP.

The politics hotted up when Panda was felicitated by Dey and was welcomed by several BJP leaders at Dey’s residence in Cuttack yesterday.

Reports said that Panda and Dey had closed door meeting for around 15 minutes in the evening on Saturday. This suggested that Panda is attached to BJP for which he preferred to quit BJD and his next mission is to be elected from Cuttack on BJP ticket.

Besides Dey, other BJP leaders including Lakhmidhar Pradhan, Nibedita Pradhan, Rajesndra Samal, Debashish Ghosh, peace committee secretary Bhikari Das felicitated Panda during the programme. They urged him to lead the party for the Mission-2019.

Although, Panda did not disclose his decision during the felicitation programme, he promised the BJP leaders to visit Cuttack again and will serve people if gets opportunity in future.
