Former Cong MLA Jogesh Singh joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Former Congress MLA Jogesh Singh joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) here today.

He along with his supporters from Sundergarh Assembly constituency joined the regional party in presence of Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

Singh had resigned as the MLA on Jan 22 after he was suspended from the Congress for ‘anti-party’ activities.

The ex-Congress man had drawn wrath of the Odisha Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Niranjan Patnaik for openly praising the CM in media.

Earlier, Congress leaders Naba Kishore Das and Pranay Sahu had quit the party and joined the BJD ahead of the upcoming elections.
