Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble visits Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri: An evening after watching hockey world cup clash with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble today visited the Jagannath Temple here to offer prayer.

Accompanied with wife Chethana Ramatheertha, Kumble visited the shrine in the morning seeking blessings of Lords on occasion of their daughter’s birthday.

The couple was in the pilgrim town for the first time. They also prayed for the tremendous performance of Indian Hockey Team during the World Cup to emerge as the champion.

The former Tests skipper along with his wife reached Srimandir at 5.00 am amidst tight security. A huge crowd was seen at the temple to welcome Kumble.

However, no special arrangement was made for the spin maestro at the temple. The couple paid obeisance to the Lords and returned to Bhubaneswar.

Kumble and CM Naveen had watched an interesting Argentina vs France clash together at Kalinga Stadium in Men’s Hockey World Cup on Thursday evening.
