Bhubaneswar: Raghubar Das was appointed today as Governor of Odisha.
The President of India Droupadi Murmu has appointed new governors for Odisha and Tripura. While former Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das has been appointed Governor of Odisha, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu has been appointed Governor of Tripura.
The new Governor will replace professor Ganeshi Lal.
“The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices,” a press communiqué issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan in this regard mentioned.
Raghubar Das served as the CM of Jharkhand between 2014 and 2019. He was first elected as an MLA in 1995 when Bihar and Jharkhand were one state. He holds the distinction of being the only leader who completed a full five-year term as the CM of Jharkhand, so far.
The new Governor is presently serving as a national vice president of BJP.
Born on May 3, 1955, Raghubar Das was sworn in as the 6th CM of Jharkhand on 28 December 2014.
