Bhubaneswar: Former DGP of Odisha SN Tiwari passed away at a private hospital here today, informed a family source.
The retired IPS officer was 81 and he was battling with cancer. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
DGP Abhay expressed his grief on a microblogging site over demise of former chief of Odisha Police.
We mourn the sad demise of Shri SN Tiwari ,retired IPS officer of 1963 batch of Odisha Cadre .Shri Tiwari will be remembered for his professional excellence , integrity , humility and compassion .My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace .

The 1963-batch retired IPS officer had held several position in Odisha police. He had served as the DIG of Central Range, Director Intelligence, Director (Directorate of Prison) and DG of Odisha Police.
Besides, Tiwari had successfully completed his term as the Joint Secretary of Intelligence Bureau on central deputation.
