Bhubaneswar, Feb 21:

With the war of words between the two former Odisha top cops getting ugly, former IGP Anadi Charan Sahu today hit back at former DGP Sanjeev Marik equating the latter with a “fallen angel”.

“Marik is a fallen angel (nindita gajapati). He was suspended for having links with people having criminal antecedants. Before moving court, he should first go through Sec 499 of Indian Penal Code (IPC),” Sahu grinned.

Notably, Anadi Charan Sahu, a former MP, had alleged that Dhalsamanta brothers had taken care of the expenses incurred on Marik’s son’s marriage, at a press conference held yesterday.

Former DGP Sanjeev Marik pooh-poohed the allegations brought by former IG of police Anadi Charan Sahu and said that he would file defamation suit against Sahu.

“I will file defamation suit and criminal defamation case against him. I challenge him to prove allegations against me. It is a conspiracy of a group to defame me. It is evident as to how one can level allegations without having any substantial proof.  He is a discarded politician who has been rejected by public,” Marik said.

Taking a dig at Sahu, Marik said, it was much talked about then that he was involved in Belu liquor tragedy case. If you would investigate into it then you would come to know about it.

“If he had proof against me then he should have gone to proper authority to file complain against me rather then organising a press conference. This is a cheap publicity stunt,” the former cop added.

Marik said he is open to any probe and denied having known Dhalsamanta brothers.
