Former Odisha minister Samir Dash faces opposition from BJP workers in his home turf

Konark: Senior BJD leader and former S&ME minister Samir Ranjan Dash today faced strong opposition from local BJP workers during his visit to Erabanga panchayat in Puri district to attend ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ programme. However, BJD workers retaliated in support of the Nimapada MLA.

According to a source, several workers of the saffron camp showed black flags and also shouted slogans against the BJD legislator. Later, some BJD workers attacked the BJP youth wing president and others.

“Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha being a government-sponsored programme, Nimapada MLA Samir Dash was supposed to conduct his campaign to which I opposed and was attacked by supporters of BJD youth wing president in the presence of police and I sustained injuries,” BJP youth wing president alleged.

“Dash was named in Dharmendra Sahu’s death case. We want to know when he would be arrested. The MLA’s personal security officer (PSO) even attempted to shoot at me with his gun. I want to know, why the Gop police administration became a mute spectator?” the BJP youth wing leader questioned.

“Mandip, Sonu, and several other BJD supporters attacked me when we were protesting the MLA’s visit. Some of them hit my lower lip with the butt of a pistol leaving me injured,” a BJP worker stated.
