Former President Pranab Mukherjee tests COVID-19 positive

New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee said on Monday that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today, he tweeted.

I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19, Mukherjee said.

Worth mentioning, many political leaders have been infected with the deadly virus in the recent times. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa, Congress leader of opposition Siddaramaiah and Congress MP Karti Chidambaram are among others who have tested positive for Coronavirus.
