The Badagada police yesterday arrested four persons for allegedly selling a plot not belonging to them using fake documents in Odisha capital.

The arrested were identified as Deepak Singh (28) of Gangapadadihi under Chandaka police station, Dillip Kumar Bebarta (34), a resident of Telengapentha in Cuttack, Arun Kumar Das (43) of Palla village in Khordha and Ashok Kumar Mishra (56) of Badagadia village in Ganjam district.

According to reports, the accused had hatched a plan to sell a 55 decimal plot of one Pradip Choudhury at Dasabatia Mouza near Tomando here to Satyaban Sahoo of Siripur farm gate slum.

While Arun became the mediator in the land deal, Deepak acted as the fake owner of the plot and received Rs 14.4 lakh from Sahoo.

The victim was opposed by the real owner of the plot when he was raising a boundary wall around it following which the whole duping incident came to fore.

Police arrested the four wrongdoers after Sahoo lodged a complaint at the Badagada police station.
