Four family members killed in group clash in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A group clash at Pitala chhak under Hinjilicut police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district last night killed four members of a family.

The deceased have been identified as three brothers Sambhu Swain, Panda Swain, Raja Swain and their cousin Chandan Swain of Narendrapur village.

The group clash took place around 12.30 am near a fast food shop run by Sambhu at Pitala chhak.

While three of them died on the spot, Chandan succumbed to injuries while being taken to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

Several others have also sustained injuries in the incident. The group clash ensued over passing of objectionable comments, reports said.

A group of six persons attacked the four victims with iron rods and lathis while they were closing the shop, reports added.

Police have arrested three persons in this connection while further investigation was underway.
