Four killed, 6 injured in road mishap in Odisha’s Sonepur

Sonepur: Collision between a pickup van and a truck killed at least four persons and left six others critically injured on Sonepur-Sambalpur road near Metakani, today.

According to reports, members of a band party were heading towards Rampur in the pickup van when the ill-fated vehicle collided head-on with a speeding truck killing two of them on the spot. They have been identified as Tejaraj Bag and Uttam Dangaria.

Locals soon rushed to the spot of accident and initiated rescue work. The injured ones were admitted to VIMSAR in Burla for treatment, where driver of the van and another member of the band party succumbed to injuries.

Condition of some of the victims was stated to be critical.
