Nuapada: In a tragic incident, four persons died as a car in which they were travelling collided with a tractor in Khariar area of Odisha's Nuapada district, late last night.
The deceased were identified as Shubham Mohanty, Devendra Singh Lal, Rishi Sahu, and Debaraj Patel. All of them were residents of Khariar.
According to reports, the accident took place while they were returning in the ill-fated car after celebrating the birthday of Rishi's elder brother.
The car's driver lost control over the wheels near Lachhipur village, first hitting a tractor from behind and then being struck by a truck from rear.
The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, and the tractor's rear wheel was dislodged. All occupants of the car died on the spot. Additionally, the tractor driver and four others sustained injuries.
On being informed, police rushed to the scene, recovered the bodies for post-mortem, and initiated an investigation into the incident.
