Four Odisha migrant labourers killed in Chennai in train accident

In a tragic incident, four persons from Odisha have died after being run over by a train in Chennai.

The deceased are natives of Kebidi village in Borigumma block of Koraput district and had gone to Tamil Nadu to work as migrant labourers.

Their families have been informed by the police about their deaths due to the accident.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered Koraput Collector to fetch the bodies of the deceased from Chennai and hand them over to their families.

“We received a phone call at around 10.30 PM yesterday from the inspector of Egmore Railway police station that they have recovered bodies of four persons killed in a train accident. The inspector informed that they have recovered a Voter I Card from the deceased which had the address of Kebidi village under Borigumma police station limits. They sent us photographs of the four deceased persons which we verified by visiting Kebidi village. Villagers there identified them to be natives of their village,” said Jeypore IIC.
