Jharsuguda: Four members of a family in Odisha’s industrial town Jharsuguda tested positive for COVID-19, official sources said today.
“Four members of a family from West Bengal have tested positive for COVID-19. They were put up in institutional quarantine. As their swabs have shown positive results, they will be shifted to a COVID hospital,” said PD, DRDA, Tapiram Majhi.
The infected persons are a male (35), female (23) and their two children aged 9 and 3.
As per official sources, the family haling from Rampur in West Bengal had arrived here on Howrah-Ahmedabad train on June 2. After arrival, they were sent to a quarantine facility at Government ITI in Badheimunda.
On June 6, their swab samples were sent for tests. Their test results have come and they have tested positive for novel coronavirus.
“There is not need to panic. Contact tracing is underway and they will be shifted to a COVID hospital,” Majhi added.
