Four pilgrims from AP drown in Odisha river

Rayagada, May 23:

Four persons including three women who had come for a darshan to Maa Majhighariani temple in Odisha’s district headquarters town Rayagada drowned in the Jhanjavati river today.

According to reports, some devotees had today come from Vizianagaram in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh to have darshan of Maa Majhighariani.

Before visiting the temple they had gone to the river to take a bath at the Majhighariani ghat.

All of them drowned while bathing in the river. On being informed, police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot to rescue them but could only recover their bodies.

While identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, they are said to members of one family.
