Four Union Mins to join ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’ celebrations in Odisha

As many as four Union Ministers would participate during the fortnight-long ’70 Saal Azadi – Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani’ celebrations in Odisha launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 9 which commemorates the Quit India Movement.

As per Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sources, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Minister of State Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudi, Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha and Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution Minister Chhotu Ram Chaudhary will partake in the campaign in the state aimed to evoke nationalism and patriotism on the occasion of India’s 70th Independence Day.

While Jual Oram is scheduled to visit the birthplace of Vir Surendra Sai at Khinda village on the outskirts of Sambalpur on August 17, Chaudhury is slated to visit Nilakanthapur village under Bhuban block in Dhenkanal district— the Baji Rout’s birthplace. Similarly, Rajiv Pratap Rudi will visit Netaji Subash Chandra Bose’s birthplace in Cuttack on August 20 and Manoj Sinha will visit Chakhi Khuntia’s village in Puri, state unit BJP vice president Sameer Mohanty informed.

Notably, a week-long “Tiranga Yatra” will also be undertaken from August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day.

During this, it will help people recall the supreme sacrifices made by freedom fighters during the freedom struggle.
