Four youth drown in dam in Odisha’s Cuttack; one missing

Choudwar: Four youth drowned and one of them went missing in a dam near Maa Damadamani Peeth in Cuttack district today.

The missing youth has been identified as Ansuman Nayak, a resident of CDA Sector 7 in Cuttack city.

According to reports, six friends, all from Bidanasi area in Cuttack city, had come for an outing at the dam near Damadamani Peeth located near Choudwar today. Four of them went into the water to take a bath. However, they drowned in the water after their legs slipped during bath.

“We four friends went into the dam water to take a bath. We drowned after our legs slipped in the water. We three managed to come out of the water, but could not find one friend,” said one of the victims Abhijit Dalai.

“As per the plan, we six friends visited here to take a bath. While taking a bath, Ansuman, who went missing, drowned in the water after his legs slipped. One of the friends tried to pull him out, but failed,” said another friend Asish Mohapatra.

Till the last report came in, the efforts were underway by the rescue team to search the missing youth in the dam.
