Free COVID vaccine booster dose administration to continue in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Free of cost administration of COVID-19 vaccine booster dose at selected government healthcare facilities in Odisha will continue, said Bijay Panigrahi, Health & Family Welfare Director, today.

It was initially decided by the Central Government to conduct the vaccination drive for 75 days from July 15 to September 30 as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Around 1.21 crore precaution doses were administered in the state during the period, said Panigrahi.

However, no directive has been issued by the Centre to stop the vaccination drive, for which it will continue in the state till vaccine stocks are available, he said.

Administration of the precaution dose is being carried out at 1150 vaccine centres across the state.
