Angul: A goods train derailed between Handapa and Bainda in Odisha's Angul district today as a boulder fell on it.

According to reports, the boulder descended from the hill, most probably due to heavy rainfall in the area, and fell on the engine of the train, causing the derailment at around 8 am.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap.

On being informed, Railway officials rushed to the spot and initiated restoration process.

Train services between Angul and Sambalpur were affected due to the incident.
