Fresh COVID guidelines issued for Cuttack city; 100 persons allowed for wedding events

Cuttack: In view of resurgence of COVID-19 in the State, authorities in Cuttack city issued fresh guidelines for the areas under Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) to contain spread of infection.

Modifying the COVID guidelines issued by the State Revenue & Disaster Management Department dated March 31, 2021, the CMC came up with revised order that will be implemented with effect from April 6, 2021 till further orders.

As per the order, the maximum number of 100 persons will be allowed to attend marriage related functions with strict adherence to COVID norms and maintenance of social distancing.

The number of persons will not exceed 50 for death related functions in the Silver City Cuttack.

Considering the rise in COVID cases in the city, the CMC has strictly prohibited following kinds of functions till further orders:

A. Events and gatherings related to Promotional Activities/Conferences/Conclaves etc
B. Centenary/ Golden Jubilee/Silver Jubilee etc celebrations of institutions
C. Annual Events/Annual Functions of Educational and other institutions etc

As per the order, the host will have to obtain specific permission from the CMC for other kinds of social gatherings. The permission will be given in view of the requirement of the host and prevailing pandemic situation. The number of maximum participants will be limited to only 100 persons.

Yesterday, the COVID guidelines were revised for Bhubaneswar reducing the number of attendees in marriage functions to 100.
