Shops in Odisha’s Cuttack city asked to remain open till 8 PM

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) today issued fresh guidelines for shops to reopen in the CMC area. Following a meeting with the bazaar committees, the CMC said all shops excluding medicine shops will remain closed at 8.00 PM as night curfew will be imposed from 9 PM on weekdays.

All the shops have been directed to display boards for maintaining social distancing for the customers.

The statement added shopkeepers and staff shall use mask in the shops. Shopkeepers shall not provide goods if any customer is not wearing mask

“The shopkeepers shall deploy staff outside of the shop for orderly parking of vehicles as well as to maintain social distancing,” it read.

If any shop is found violating social distance measures drastic action will be taken against the shops by sealing it and imposing hefty fine.

The CMC further said one-way traffic will be introduced in congested and crowded markets.

If any area is declared as containment zone, shopkeepers will co-operate to shut down the shops in those areas.

“If anyone is found violating the COVID-19 guidelines of the State government, strict and drastic action shall be taken against the violators,” it mentioned.
