Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, May 20:

Any allotment of plot/plots made by the General Administration (GA) department of the Odisha government to someone who has already availed a plot, house or apartment from Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) or Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) and vice-versa will be considered a case of multiple allotment, the Urban Development department has clarified.

“If any beneficiary has availed plot, house etc. from BDA, CDA or OSHB after availing plot etc. from GA department it will be considered as multiple allotment. However, steps on this account will be taken by the Urban Development department,” said a senior official of the GA department.

“The department will initiate action in this regard very soon,” secretary, Urban Development department G Mathivathanan said.

Such beneficiaries too will be served with notices and have to face the probe by the Vigilance department already ordered. Both GA and Urban Development departments have begun preparations on this account, official sources said.

It has been decided to prepare a list of beneficiaries who have availed plot/plots from the GA department over and above any plots, houses or apartments allotted by these three authorities, the sources said.

Investigation has already begun into allotments made by the GA department on the basis of  the report of the Task Force headed by former Revenue secretary Taradutt into all discretionary allotments made since January 1, 1995.

Notably, senior bureaucrat Taradutt in the Task Force report had raised questions on the allotments of plots/lands made by the GA department.
