Gadkari, Khattar and Bommai among 72 in BJP’s 2nd list of candidates for 2024 polls

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced its second list of 72 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the country.

The second list includes two candidates each from from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, seven from Gujarat, six each from Haryana and Telangana, 20 each from Karnataka and Maharashtra and five from Madhya Pradesh.

The party has fielded former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal seat in the state. Khattar had resigned as the Chief Minister of Haryana recently.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari got the BJP ticket from Nagpur seat in Maharashtra. The party has given ticket to Union Minister for Commerce Piyush Goyal to fight the polls from Mumbai North seat.

The BJP has picked Pankaja Munde, the daughter of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde, to fight the polls from Beed seat.

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur has been nominated to contest the elections from Hamirpur seat in Himachal Pradesh.

The BJP has fielded former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai from Haveri Lok Sabha seat. BJP’s youth wing president Tejasvi Surya will fight the polls from Bangalore South seat in Karnataka.

The party had released its first list of 195 candidates for 2024 Lok Sabha polls on March 2.
