Ganesh Puja not to be held at public places in this Odisha district

Bhadrak: Ganesh Puja will not be held at public places in Odisha’s Bhadrak district this year due to the COVID-19 situation, an official order of the Collector said. However, puja of Lord Ganesh in temples and permanent places of worship for the deity has been permitted in the district.

“There shall be no Sarbajanina Ganesh Puja at any public place (including erection of stage/pandal) throughout the district of Bhadrak. There is no bar for the performance of puja of Lord Ganesh in temples or permanent places of worship for the deity. Maximum of seven persons along with the sevayat/servitor are allowed to perform the rituals of the deity,” the order said.

Devotees will not be allowed to enter into the premises of the temple to offer puja. However, the devotees can perform puja at their respective houses. The heads of educational institutions have been allowed to perform Ganesh Puja as per guidelines issued by the Government.

Cultural functions/religious functions/other gatherings and congregations in any form have been strictly prohibited. Immersion of Lord Ganesh idols shall be completed without any procession with a maximum gathering of 5 persons.

No permission has been given to any club/association for the celebration of Ganesh Puja at any public place.

The persons participating in Ganesh Puja in temples and institutions have been asked to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols like social distancing, wearing of masks and sanitization of the place.
