Gangster Hyder’s aide Mohammad Nasiruddin arrested in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today arrested Mohammad Nasiruddin, an aide of notorious gangster Sheikh Hyder, here today.

Nasiruddin, who was arrested in connection with the murder of Sheikh Chuna alias Malik Hanan, brother of gangster Sheikh Suleiman, was absconding after he was released on parole in 2014.

In March 2011, the Additional Sessions Judge Court, Bhubaneswar had awarded life imprisonment to Hyder and his seven associates for killing Sheikh Chuna in 2005. Chuna was shot dead by the criminals near Stewart School here on May 31, 2005.

In February 2017, the police had arrested Hyder’s two sons- Sheikh Ajhar and Sheikh Chunei- in front of the Jharpada Special Jail here when the two had come to meet their father. The duo was later handed over to Kendrapara police.
