Ganja worth Rs 1 crore seized in Odisha; 2 held

Malkangir: Busting a major inter-state Ganja smuggling racket, the Chitrakonda police of Malkangiri district seized 507 kgs of the contraband item from a truck near Essar Company Square late last night.

While carrying out patrolling, the Chitrakonda police intercepted a truck suspecting its movement and later seized the narcotic items worth around Rs 1 crore. The cannabis were being smuggled to Haryana, sources said.

The cops also arrested two ganja smugglers and seized Rs 42,000 cash from their possession. The two accused were later forwarded to court today, said police.
