Ganja worth Rs 30 lakh seized in Odisha’s Koraput, 2 held

Koraput: Police have seized nearly 322 kg of ganja worth around Rs 30 lakh in Odisha’s Koraput district and arrested two persons in this connection.

According to reports, Machkund and Lamtaput police intercepted a truck at Guneipada during night patrolling. While searching the truck, the cannabis was recovered from the vehicle.

The two persons who were arrested over their alleged involvement in smuggling the contraband have been identified as Vipin Misra and Arun Dubey. Both are residents of Raipur, Uttar Pradesh.

The cannabis was being transported in the truck from Enugu in Andhra Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh via Koraput district.

The truck has also been seized by police and further probe was underway to ascertain the possible involvement of others in the offence.
