Ganjam reports highest 320 new COVID-19 cases; here’re details

Berhampur:  Ganjam, which is the worst COVID-19 affected district,  today reported highest single-day spike of 320 new cases and four COVID deaths triggering panic among the residents.

Of the  755 fresh cases detected in the state, Ganjam alone reported 42.4 % of the cases taking the total count of positive cases in the district to 3416.

All the new cases have been shifted to COVID hospital, informed officials.

The fresh 320 cases include 65 corona warriors, nine persons with travel history and 246 persons with active contact of previous positive cases.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the district rose to 1697. However, 1707 persons have recovered from the disease while as many as 34 succumbed to the virus.
