Gas tanker hits bike in Odisha’s Khordha; couple killed, son critical

Khordha, May 31:

In a fatal road mishap, a married couple was killed and their son critically injured when the bike on which they were travelling was hit by a gas tanker at Baghamari in Odisha’s Khordha district today.

The deceased were identified as Rasananda Jena of Kapasia village and his wife Manjulata. Their son Santosh, who sustained grievous injuries in the accident, was initially admitted to district headquarters hospital here and later shifted to Bhubaneswar after his condition deteriorated, sources said.

According to reports, the mishap took place when the trio was on their to Bolagarh on the two-wheeler. The fuel tanker hit the bike at Baghamari here killing the couple on the spot and injuring their son.

On being informed about the accident, fire department personnel from Begunia rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy.
