Gastroenterology dept to open at MKCG Hospital; 19 posts sanctioned

Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited Gastroenterology department will come up at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur soon.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal in this regard by sanctioning 19 teaching and non-teaching posts for the Gastroenterology department (both medicine and surgery).

With opening of two super specialty — Medical Gastroenterology and Surgical Gastroenterology — at the premier medical institution, the people of southern region of the State will be benefited, said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a release today.

The CM described availability of super specialty services at the MKCG Hospital as ‘beginning of new era’ in healthcare sector in the southern Odisha.

“By availing the super specialty services at the MKCG Hospital in Berhampur, a new era has begun in healthcare sector in southern part of the State”, Patnaik said.

The MKCG Medical College and Hospital is a leading medical institution in southern region of Odisha. It has played a major role in providing the standard healthcare services to public in the State, the release stated.
