Girl dies while playing on swings in Odisha

Nayagarh: In a freak accident, a minor girl died of strangulation while playing near Hatapada village under Town Police limits, here today.

The deceased has been identified as 11-year-old Laxmipriya Sahoo, a resident of the nearby slum area of Hatapada village.

According to reports, the minor girl was riding swings during the day when the rope of the swing accidentally coiled around her neck and suffocated her.

Family members rushed her to the Nayagarh District Headquarter Hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
