Girl found hanging on DAV campus in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A girl was found hanging from ceiling of her hostel room in Unit VIII area in Odisha capital here today.

A student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at DAV School of Business Management, the girl was found hanging this morning following which hostel authorities were informed.

The girl was rushed to Capital Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

As per sources, a suicide note was recovered from her room.

The deceased identified as Sania Benerjee was a student of second year, BBA.

Police have begun investigation into the incident.

The body was sent for autopsy followed by post-mortem.

The parents of the girl residing in Talcher were informed about the incident.

“This is a well-planned murder. We were not told that our daughter has died,” the girl’s mother alleged.

Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan visited the hospital and met the parents of the deceased.

“We demand an impartial inquiry into the incident so that truth will come out,” Pradhan demanded.
