Girl gang-raped while going for dip on Makar Sankranti in Odisha
Baripada: A girl was allegedly gang-raped while she was going to take holy dip on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Odisha’s Baripada town today.
According to reports, the victim was heading towards a river for the dip this morning when two youths of the locality followed the 19-year-old girl and later raped her at a secluded place near the river bed. As she screamed for help, the accused duo fled the spot.

The girl narrated the ordeal to her family members after returning home, following which a complaint was lodged by them at the Baripada Town police station.
On the basis of the FIR, police have arrested the two accused.
