Girl, kin slit youth’s throat in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara: A girl and her family members allegedly slitted throat of a youth with a sharp weapon near Darabachha village under Marshaghai police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district today.

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Raj Kumar Dash of Kanpur village, was initially admitted to the Marshaghai community health centre and later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Mother of the victim has alleged that kin of the girl invited him to their house this morning and attacked him with sharp weapons.

On the other hand, family members of the girl have accused the youth of harassing her after she rejected his proposal of having a relationship with him. They also alleged that Raj Kumar slitted his own throat with a blade.

Marshaghai police have started investigation into the incident.
