Girl rescued in unconscious state in Odisha’s Puri; rape suspected

A girl was rescued in an unconscious state by locals from Bali Sahi area in Odisha’s Puri town this morning. It is suspected that the victim has been raped before being dumped.

According to reports, the girl from Jaleswar area had come to Balasore yesterday for shopping. However, she has no idea how she landed up in the pilgrim town.

The girl in her 20s was rescued this morning and admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

“The victim is in a state of trauma. She is unable to speak properly. She is blabbering that she is from Jaleswar and a boy was killed. Her vital signs and other parameters are normal,” Haribandhu Mishra, the attending doctor said.

Though the victim has no memory of the turn of events, she claimed that she was raped.
