About six girls of a government-run residential school in Khatlapadar under Kundra block in the district fell unconscious after experiencing paranormal activities in the past couple of days following which the panic-stricken students left the hostel for their homes.

“I saw a completely white body having long hairs with one side of the face charred. She told me to go back to her as I am her daughter,” a panicky student said.

“While I was playing in the art room, I realised someone coming and standing on my back,” another inmate expressed.

According to reports, as many as 268 students are studying in Khatlapadar UP School and the 100-bed hostel for scheduled tribe students accommodates 110 students.

“I took over the charge from this February. I was unaware of any ghost in the hostel. In the last 20 days or so, a girl fell unconscious and then more girls fell unconscious,” Pratima Maharana, warden of the hostel said.

The school managing committee is worried over the turn of events. The officials have been putting in efforts to create awareness among the students about the superstitions.

Meanwhile, pujas are being performed near the hostel premises to get rid of the evil powers.

“Some local students are also residing in the hostel. Their parents are insisting on pujas which we can not ignore. If they are doing it outside the hostel premises, then we do not have any objection to it,” Kundra Welfare Extension Officer, Shailendra Nath Rath said.
