Girl’s obscene photos go viral on social media in Odisha capital, beau held

Bhubaneswar: Despite advisory issued by Odisha police against circulation of obscene contents and videos on social media, the crime still continues in various parts of the state including the capital city.

Just few days after a youth was arrested on charges of threatening a girl to upload their sex video on social media, Commissionerate police arrested another youth for allegedly posting obscene photos of his girlfriend on the internet.

The accused was identified as Saroj Das (23), a slum dweller in Salia Sahi slum in Bhubaneswar.

The Nayapalli police arrested Saroj on Thursday on basis of the complaint lodged by the victim against him.

According to reports, Saroj and the girl were in love with each other following their first meeting. They entered into physical relationship after Saroj proposed the girl. He had shot few obscene photos of his girlfriend. He posted those photos on social media to take revenge after the couple had heated argument few days ago and they parted their ways.

The victim approached the Nayapalli police after her obscene photos went viral on social media.

Police had launched investigation into the matter following the written complaint by the victim.

The police arrested Saroj from his home and seized a mobile phone used for uploading the obscene photos. He was forwarded to the court following interrogation.
