Girls outshine boys in Odisha HSC exams-2017

The result of High School Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) was announced here today where girls outperformed boys and the overall pass percentage was pegged at 85.28 per cent as against 83.32 last year.

According to board sources, a total of 4, 85, 989 students cleared the annual matriculation examination-2017. Notably, 748 schools across the state scored cent per cent results and 22 schools scored zero per cent results.

“We have announced the results ahead of others. The examinations were conducted successfully, even in left wing extremism affected regions. The pass percentage has increased as compared to last year. The OMR sheets will be published by this evening,” School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said.

As expected, the girl students have outshined the boys this year too. As many as 2, 55, 051 girls passed the annual exam as compared to 2, 47, 948 boys.

The grade-wise segregation is as follows: A1 Grade (90-100%): 2417, A2: 23489, B1: 62193, B2: 102395.

Balasore, Doegarh districts have scored the highest pass percentage; Mayurbhanj and Malkangiri the lowest.

Students can log on to www.bseodisha.nic.inwww.bseodisha.ac.in and www.orissaresults.nic.in to know their results from 11.30 am onwards.

To know the results through SMS, students need to type OR10 <ROLL NO> and send it to 5676750.

Notably, around 6,08,000 students in regular and ex-regular streams had appeared in the examinations at 2,887 centres across the state this year.

The exams commenced on February 28 and concluded on March 10.
