Girls outshine boys in Plus II Arts exams in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: At least 78.88 per cent students have cleared this year’s Plus II Arts examinations, the results of which were published by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha today.

Altogether 230545 students, including regular and ex-regular, had appeared the examinations, out of which 181869 have cleared the tests, said an official of the CHSE.

On the other hand, at least 67.48 per cent students have passed this year’s Plus II vocational exams.

As many as 5,720 students, including both regular and ex-regular, had appeared the vocational study exams this year, out of which 3,860 students have been declared successful, sources said.

In the Arts stream, at least 70.43 per cent boys have passed the exams while the pass percentage for girls is 85.66.

A total of 102639 boys had appeared the exams, out of which 72,298 have been declared successful.

Similarly, altogether 127906 girls had appeared the Plus II Arts exams, out of which 109571 have cleared the tests.

A total of 32,782 students have secured first division and 32,461 got second division. On the other hand, 116179 students have secured third division in Plus II Arts.

In vocational studies, at least 843 students have secured first division and 1751 got the second division. Similarly, 1115 students have managed to get third division.

The pass percentage of boys in vocational studies is 64.23 and it is 71.10 in case of girls.

As per CHSE data, 3014 boys had appeared the vocational studies exams this year, out of which 1934 have passed the tests.

Altogether 2706 girls had written the exams, out of which 1924 have been declared successful.
