Bhubaneswar, Aug 1:
Senior IAS officer of the 1978 batch Gokul Chandra Pati today took charge as the 41st chief secretary of Odisha.
Talking to newsmen after arriving at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here this evening, Pati said he would give utmost priority to the development of agriculture and welfare of the farmers of the state.
“I would also try my best to improve the health and education sectors in the state. I would give special emphasis on infrastructure development and strengthen disaster preparedness mechanism,” he said.
From the airport, Pati went to the State Secretariat where he formally took charge of his new assignment.
