Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly stole gold ornaments and various valuable articles from Maa Ugratara Temple in Odisha's Khordha district, last night.

The robbery came to fore after the temple priests arrived at the shrine, this morning.

While the exact value of the stolen ornaments remains unclear, the donation box at the temple was safe.

It is suspected that the perpetrators disabled the surveillance cameras before committing the offence.

Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident, cordoning off the temple premises to gather crucial evidence.

It is worth noting that the temple had been selected for development under the 5T programme by the Odisha government.
