‘Golden baba’ held for fraud in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police today arrested an alleged fraudster popularly known as ‘Golden baba’ here for allegedly duping a resident of Barbil in Keonjhar district.

The accused was identified as Jyotiranjan Beura.

The Chandrasekharpur police arrested him following interrogation at the police station.

According to reports, the police had been searching for the golden baba in connection with various fraud cases following a complaint lodged by a victim from Barbil. Total 19 cases have been registered against him at variouspolice stations.

Wearing gold jewelries,  Beura used toto attend BJD’s various programmes identifying himself as the party worker in Bhubaneswar.

The ‘Golden baba’ reportedly owns four luxury cars.

Earlier, he was residing in Niladri Vihar area. Later, he was spotted in Kalarahanga, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar before fleeing to Delhi.
