Bhubaneswar: The standard of education will be enhanced in all government and government-aided schools in Odisha, School & Mass Education (S&ME) Minister Nityananda Gond said today.
In the initial stage, the Minister reviewed the works of the department and emphasised on infrastructure, educational environment, and school management.
“‘Good Education’ in all government and government-aided schools in Odisha is the priority of the State government and various programs will be taken up in this direction,” Minister Gond said.
It was decided to review government and government-aided schools which have been closed due to various reasons. It has also been decided to implement aspirational curriculum in every school with emphasis on coding, project-based curriculum, and life skill-based learning, linguistic creativity.
Along with this, the Minister instructed the departmental officers to ensure that Study Materials should reach every block of the district on time in the coming academic year.
The review meeting discussed how students can get better quality education along with the development of primary school infrastructures.
A decision was taken to speed up various works initiated by the department towards the establishment of FLN classrooms. Asset Management Software is being developed which will bring a big change in the education sector.
Under the S&ME department, Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya (OAV) will be given a new look.
Similarly, Minister Gond emphasised the strengthening of residential facilities for students. Based on local areas, steps are being taken to convert high schools (HS) into higher secondary schools (HSS).
Web publishing of e-content will be done for the convenience of all students in higher secondary education. These textbooks will be made available through the official website.
Various plans are being taken up in the coming days to train the teachers. Teacher training institutes will be made more efficient. The Minister invited various proposals from the departmental officials on how to solve the problems of teachers.
Along with developing the infrastructure of this institution, auditoriums will be constructed in each District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET). The institute will be converted into a DIET of Excellence. Minister Gond discussed with all the officials in the review meeting that all efforts are being made to provide the best quality education to students in the state and organising various workshops to develop the skills of teachers and students.
The high-level review meeting was held in the conference hall of the S&ME department.
Additional secretaries, joint secretaries, academic advisors, and senior officers were present along with Commissioner-cum-Secretary Aswathy S. The Minister was briefed by Commissioner-cum-Secretary on various schemes, programmes, initiatives, and activities undertaken by the department.
